I work out at a gym about 3-4 times per week and am in love with the elliptical machine for cardio. Second favorite would be the cross country bike machine. Both seem to give me an amazing cardio workout over just the treadmill or stair step.

I purchased a cable weight machine for 199 bucks..It works great for me going on the directions that came with it. I lost fat and gained muscle but you will have to be persistent. You can buy one cheaper if you look for one out side a retail store,[flee market, yard sale, garage sales, etc.] So get to work, loose the fat and gain those muscles. Good luck

You might be better off buying a gym membeship. It's important to have a variety of cardio (switch your routine every 2 months or so) or your body gets used to it.

Bikes are a good way to build leg muscle, and running is good for tonning. Step machiens are good for leg muscles as well. You arn't really going to "build" muscles unless you do weights, but these help. Any type of cardio will help you lose fat too.

An eliptical trainer is good for both things. Used at a higher speed, it will act as a cardio machine, but at higher resistance, it will help build arm, leg, core, and glutes strength (and firmness) I don't know much about guys building muscles, but I don't think you can build LARGE muscles without weight training.

an elliptical is great. i dont know how much they cost but my aunt got one and shes not like rich or anything, so maybe just look into that.

i have a small stair step machine. i got the kind that works the same as the others but doesnt have the place to hold onto and its just about the size of a shoebox so i can just slide it under the bet. sorry, dont know how much that was either but if you get the small one its at least under 100. AT LEAST.
